"I'LL TELL YOU WHAT," GOD SAID. "Look in that little book on the table there. The little black one. The one those guys on Earth who used to run around with You wrote. I think I told the people on Earth the next time they got out of line I'd destroy the whole planet with hail, didn't I? A huge ice storm. Look it up for Me, will You? They wrote all that stuff down." He paused for a moment, scratched His royal head, and then continued, "I'm pretty sure I told them it would be an ice storm." Jesus thumbed through the little book for a minute, then stopped and read a short passage. "Nope. It wasn't ice at all. You're wrong. Sorry Dad, but it says here You're gonna destroy the Earth with hell fire and brimstone. Fire falling from Heaven. Holy Moley, Pop, did You have to be so dramatic?"

2. THE SKY IS FALLING

There were hundreds of the objects, falling all about, drifting on the morning breeze and glittering in the sunlight like diamonds. At first Nancy thought they were all of the same blue color, but then she noticed several with wisps of white scattered about on them. She took a few steps sideways and caught one of these pieces. She wanted to get a better look. She was surprised to see the white substance looked as if it were moving on the surface of the material. As she watched, it slid away to one side and vanished from the surface completely.

3. THE BIG PICTURE

I don't know if there is really such a thing as the perfect crime. I suspect there is. I'm sure I'm not the first to wonder how one might pull off such a thing. I wanted to see if I could write a story about a perfect crime, and actually make it plausible. I think there are some people who might find flaws in the story, and say it couldn't have happened the way I've written it. Maybe so, maybe not. It could be that knowing what really happened would allow someone to find the flaws, but in this pretext, the police never knew what actually happened, and worked on exactly the set of circumstances they were given. I think the crime could happen the way I have described it, but whichever way you feel, I hope all you would be sleuths enjoy the story.

4. THE FLAT ROCK KID

I don't know if there was a Flat Rock Kid back in the glory days of the Old West, but I do know there should have been. I don't even know if there was a Flat Rock, Georgia, but I do know that Willie Dolan, AKA The Flat Rock Kid, and his rustic old sidekick Walter "Pearly" Parker had a knack for turning the West on it's ear. In the years after the Civil War, the Kid and Pearly drifted from Kansas to Missouri, from Deadwood to Abilene, and when they rode into a cow town, trouble was sure to be on their welcoming committee.
